Noises Off and noises on – A hands-on workshop in text interpretation

Creating a performance is like working in three dimensions—the script, the characters, and an entire world brought to life on stage. Sounds easy? Not at all! Along the way, we must provide context, present interpretation, make artistic choices, and sometimes just let things go.

During the workshop, we will explore selected scenes from Michael Frayn’s play Noises Off. This comedy about theatre professionals will serve as the basis for our creative interpretations. We’ll experiment with the text and develop our own performative reading.

The workshop will be conducted by Magdalena Szuster, an English philologist and theatre educator associated with the Music Theatre of Łódź and the University of Łódź.

The workshop will be conducted in English and is open to all. Fluency in English is not required!

SPRAWDŹ, CZEGO NIE WIDAĆ. Warsztaty pracy z tekstem w języku angielskim

Tworzenie spektaklu przypomina pracę w trzech wymiarach - tekstu sztuki, stworzeniu bohaterów przez aktorów i ożywienia całego świata na scenie. Łatwe? A gdzie tam! Po drodze trzeba nadać kontekst, interpretować, dokonywać artystycznych wyborów, z czegoś rezygnować.

W trakcie zajęć weźmiemy na warsztat sceny z dramatu „Czego nie widać” („Noises OFF”)  Michaela Frayna. Fragmenty komedii o pracownikach teatru będą podstawą do naszych twórczych interpretacji. Będziemy bawić się tekstem i stworzymy własne czytanie performatywne.

Zajęcia poprowadzi Magdalena Szuster, anglistka, teatrolożka i pedagożka teatru związana z Teatrem Muzycznym w Łodzi i Uniwersytetem Łódzkim.

Warsztat w języku angielskim dla wszystkich chętnych. Uwaga - perfekcyjna znajomość języka nie jest wymagana.
