During summer season Theater Wybrzeże runs at full speed. In our programme there’re 6 performances with English subtitles and guided tours in English. We hope to see you there!
7th July at 5 p.m. | BIG STAGE
The Growling of the Milky Way (Powarkiwania Drogi Mlecznej), dir. Adam Orzechowski
The Growling of the Milky Way is a kind of political fiction, a socio-political metacabaret, whose main characters derive from the front pages of newspapers. Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un, and Heidi Klum exist here on the same ontological principles – as products of Bonn Park’s creative imagination. On the one hand, it is a scathing satire on the global status quo, in both social and political terms, and on the other, a poignant diagnosis of the impotence behind the greatest tragedies of the contemporary world.

14th July at 5 p.m. | BIG STAGE
Romeo and Juliet is not dead (Romeo i Julia is not dead), dir. Michał Siegoczyński
When the only option to save love is to take poison the effect of which will wear off after three days and give lovers a resurrection in a new wonderful world with no borders, does it sound like a good plan? And maybe another question is more appropriate: maybe something has gone wrong? The eternal lovers once again are returning to the scene of life to throw down the gauntlet to the world and, between the pop culture clichés, they are trying to find a place for themselves by cheating their fates. But will the great world of theatre allow them to? Or maybe yet again it will turn them into an iconic poster of The Lovers of Verona? Only one thing remains unchanged – Romeo and Juliet’s request to keep your fingers crossed for them, maybe with one subtle difference – that you keep them crossed just slightly more firmly.
The performance is recommended for audiences aged 16 and over.
Duration: 2 hours 20 minutes (one intermission)

19st July at 8 p.m. | BIG STAGE
Ground Zero (Punkt zero), dir. Adam Orzechowski
The play’s protagonist seems to have everything he ever dreamed of, yet he lacks the most important thing – the joy of life. This is why he describes his existential condition as “ground zero,” a place he wants to leave as quickly as possible to set off in search of lost meaning. To achieve this, he enlists the help of memories, as well as strained relationships and obligations towards family and friends. But will each of those “elements” truly prove necessary and helpful on his journey?

Julia & the Empty Lot (Puste miejsca), dir. Lena Frankiewicz
Julia and Paul are expecting a child. However, from the very beginning, the pregnancy does not go smoothly. As a result of successive complications, the heroine is forced to make a decision that leaves a lasting mark on her psyche. Julia, still dwelling on the past, ceases to feel the present. There is, however, someone who, using tools from the borderline of theater and therapy, will attempt to heal the woman.
